St Michael's Catholic and Church of England High School is a 700 place secondary school serving the Barnsley deanery of the Catholic Diocese of Hallam, and the Church of England Diocese of Wakefield.
Our pupils come from right across the Barnsley borough, the majority from Royston, St Helen's and Monk Bretton, but also from the Town Centre, Cudworth, Darton, Kingstone, Worsbrough and other outlying areas.
Our school is unique because of the Christian foundation we build our learning upon and our Catholic and Church of England ethos underpins all that we do.
Our students and staff are amazing people who work hard and create the caring and supportive atmosphere that St Michael's is known for and we are blessed with encouraging and interested parents who support the school in so many ways.
There are exciting times ahead for St Michael's . At the end of July 2012 our school will close and reopen in September 2012 as Holy Trinity, a brand new purpose built 3-16 school which will merge St Michael's, Holy Cross Deanery Church of England Primary and St Dominic's Catholic Primary Schools. The building is being constucted now and you can find out more about it by using the links.
I do hope you enjoy finding out more about our school by exploring this website.
Kind regards
Simon Barber
