From the Acting Headteacher

Welcome to St Michael's Catholic and Church of England High School.

We are a Voluntary Aided Catholic and Church of England Secondary comprehensive school for 11 to 16 year olds based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

We work with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hallam and the Church of England Diocese of Wakefield in partnership with Barnsley LA.

I hope that you find the information contained here to be both useful and informative. I am certain that this website will provide you with a real sense of the ethos of our school. This is summarised in the school motto "Following Jesus Together", which places an emphasis on the deep partnership and commitment of the two Dioceses and Bishops to work in harmony and to create a place in which moral and religious values are given a high priority in addition to the unlocking of each individual's potential in both academic and interpersonal endeavours.

We pride ourselves on the pastoral care exercised with each child and are confident that, when they have completed the experience of St Michael's at the end of Year 11, each one will have grown academically, personally and spiritually. I hope that you get a sense of the excitement and buzz we feel as we follow the journey of discovery ahead of us.
